I spent the morning cleaning and teaching the kids how to bounce the ball properly while playing jacks. Jacob had it in his head that all he to do was throw the ball down and grab all the jacks - there was no catching the ball. Hand eye coordination is a tricky thing for a four year old, so jacks got old pretty quickly and they moved on to the hordes of Little People that live in Jacob's room. Eventually we got ready and went to The Chick for lunch. From there on to Sam's, back home, made dinner, ate and then off we were to the library. Not an extraordinarily exciting way to begin summer, but we did get out and about a bit.
When we were going into the library I pointed a cloud out to Janie that looked like it was getting ready to get down to business. When we came out about an hour later, the cloud had exploded into a thunderhead and was just boiling out in all directions. It was truly amazing to watch. I put my sunglasses on Janie and told her to watch the edges of the clouds, which were set against the clear blue sky... she said, "I could watch this forever." She made this meteorologist wanna-be very proud. We booked it home to take some pictures. This is it from our backyard:

The storm developed to the east of us and headed off that way eventually. We never felt a thing from it... saw some nice lightening after dark, though.
Ahhhhhhhhhh... video! See, I is geek. :) For some reason it wouldn't upload to PhotoBucket, but Google Video is cooperating.
Hee, you can hear Jacob whining because the sprinklers were on. He had found a roly poly and wanted to go into the yard to get some grass for him but he didn't want to get wet. He kept asking Mark to turn them off.
