Another of those days...

Three weeks after being diagnosed with diabetes...

We took Janie to a local ER early in the morning after a day and night of what we thought was the same stomach bug Jacob had earlier that week. She ended up being transfered via ambulance to our children's hospital that evening after a CAT scan showed us that she was suffering from appendicitis. There's so much behind what happened that Saturday, Saturday night and Sunday, but I'll spare you those details.

She had surgery around 5:30pm - her appendix had ruptured. Recovery went very well (she was playing Wii with Mark 24 hrs after surgery), but she had to stay in the hospital for five days for antibiotic treatment.

She had no problems at all as her recovery continued at home. She played soccer two weeks later after surgery and her one month post-op check was all of two minutes in length - short and sweet. Her scars should be near invisible by April '09... yay for laparoscopic procedures!
