Elitch Gardens

As a bonus for raising a certain amount for the Walk to Cure Diabetes, we were given four passes to Elitch Gardens (where the Walk as held). We chose to go Sunday, October 19, 2008. The weather was awesome!

We spent most of our time in the kiddie area where Janie had to "scrunch" up a bit to make it on some rides. When there was a cut off, it was 54". She's about 53 1/2" (really, BDC says so), but some of the folk working the rides didn't quite get the idea of needing a flat surface to get a good reading with their measurement sticks. It was so funny watching her walk up to the stick and scrunch up, all guilty looking.

Toward the end of the day, Mark rode some roller coasters and the Tower of Doom. Janie's trying to talk herself into doing ToD next time we go. She did ride Turn of the Century which was very impressive. She was so excited, loved it and had to ride again. Proud Momma moment.

It's been a very busy fall with school, Janie's arm, soccer for both, Mark's softball, church choir and Alabama playing so well (lots of college ball to watch), so it was very nice to have a family day doing something out of the ordinary.
