Janie read Junie B First Grader: Dumb Bunny (not loving the title, but that's besides the point right now) today. All of it, on and off, with other books/stories in between, from about 2:45p - 11:30p (I know - what's she doing up? - that's another post).
118 pages.
She's 6. She starts 1st grade in the fall. The suggested reading age is 4 -8, so maybe this is pretty normal for her age, but I was very impressed. I even quizzed her to make sure she was comprehending and retaining. Yep and yep.

Hey I think it is fabulous! My girls all love the Junie B. Jones books. I don't. I really don't like that nearly baby talk format.. But oh well.
Faithy is seven and she is just now really getting into readin "chapter books". She really likes the Magic Treehouse books :)
Oh, and she also just told me she loves Arthur and Pony Pals chapter books :)
And then Smantha (my niece) came down and said "What about Amelia Bedelia books?! And Henry and Mudge?! And Horrible Harry?!"
haha She loves to read, she is more like Cassie, who would read 24/7 if you'd let her ;)
Lawanda! LOL Thanks for the pointers, tell the kids thanks for me, too. I have been scouring all over the place to find chapter books for her. :) She checked her first two Magic Treehouse books yesterday, but I didin't know the stories come in 4 book sets, so I don't know what we have. Prob two books from different stories. :)
Sorry, I am not meaning to spam ya! lol
But I did want to say how proud I am to be on here under "Me Buds" *proud*
haha
About the books, my kids have always been able to just go visit the library and find tons of what they want... The "competition between them is pretty good for getting them interested in different things too :)
And now I will try to refrain from posting anymore. (At least to this one! lol)
Heehee! I thought I may should ask before linking to others' blogs but then thought, who's reading this? ScrapChat people, and my sister.
Post away! I get so excited every time a see a new comment. I guess I should just let her have it in the library. She loves science books and will go find the section she wants and come back with 4 or 5 books. I need to let her do that for fiction, also. :)
